Congrats on your new puppy!
This is such an exciting time but it can also be scary, overwhelming and exhausting. Puppies are ADORABLE but full of energy, chewing machines, and require constant supervision. It's like having a kid so if you are a parent already, its very similar. My best advice for new puppy owners is learn! The more you learn, the more prepared you are and know what to expect and how to handle it. Here are some tips.
Dogs have been in my life, my entire life! To me, they are a member of the family and a furry best friend. I have raised many puppies over the years and have learned a lot from those who have done this longer. My best tips are learn, learn, learn. (sorry, thats not really a tip but its the truth) Each person will tell you something different, so take tips from everyone and form what will work best for you, your family and your puppy!
Remember they are PUPPIES (usually until about 2 years old), will get into mischief, chew things, pee everywhere and test your patience but its all worth it.
They are now part of your family so just like with parenting, you must try over and over and just keep giving them love. I highly recommend puppy classes and dog training. Training is so important. Here are a few other resources:
